Culture Collide Day 3 w/ Ginga, The Lanskies, and The Go Round!

You will not be disappointed by our final set of performances in support of Culture Collide Fest!

Ginga will be starting off in our loft at 5 pm! Coming to you from Austria, this 4-man band will be sharing their pop, folk-rock sound with us. Their songs are nicely arranged with strong vocal harmonies and melancholy melodies. Curious to see if they will bring their stuffed animals and manikin heads with them...regardless, we are really excited to see this band in full force!

Second to the OV loft is The Lanskies @ 6pm! This guitar-rock band, with influences from British beat music, is a must see for the fest. They are getting a lot of recognition in being compared to fellow Frenchies, Phoenix. This take away session from Blogotheque gets us super pumped to see this French band perform. Make sure you stop by to hear this performance, we promise it won't disappoint.

The Go Round will take us into the end @ 7pm. Brooklyn based songwriters came together from completely random walks of life to form a band that seems to be right in many ways. They have created a folk/country vibe with the help of newest members on drums and violin. They have a great sound that is amplified by their presence on stage.

Make sure to come by and celebrate the end of our contribution to Culture Collide with us! Provide your presence and we will provide high fives.

Just Added to Day 2 of Culture Collide Fest: Paula i Karol @ 5pm, Stephen Brower & the Silent Majority @ 8pm!

Guess what?! We just added some more super sweet bands to the line up today. For you lucky people who got to see Hooray for Earth...wasn't that awesome? Still coming in at 6 pm is Guineafowl and at 7 pm come see Writers (see below for more information about those bands). But get excited because we just added two more bands to today's lineup: Paula i Karol is coming in at 5 pm, and Stephen Brower & the Silent Majority is on at 8 pm!!

Paula i Karol are creating a lot of hype in the Polish music scene. They have an acoustic indie-folk vibe that is just too cute. No, I'm serious. Look at this video, they make you want to smile with them. Come in and get happy with us at 5 pm!

Stephen Brower & the Silent Majority created a lot of buzz with their home recording and small 7" releases, and have finally released their debut album "sb/sm". They will sure blow you away with what they describe as a "stoner-punk-folk-metal assault." Make sure you come by at 8pm and check out their awesome sound!

Culture Collide Day 2 w/ Hooray For Earth, Guineafowl, and Writer!

It's Day 2 of Filter's Culture Collide Fest and the Origami Vinyl stage will be hosting some stellar music!

First up to bat is Hooray For Earth @ 3pm. An extremely refreshing band out of Brooklyn, NY, showcases a mixture of sporadic electronic rhythms that take cues from EDM and psych and blend them with major-chord pop hooks that seem meant for the arena. Today they take their sound and strip it down to its bare minimum essentials to give Origami-ists a rare glimpse into the talent this band occupies when not playing on 11. We guarantee it's gonna be awesome!

The band plays a full on plugged in set TONIGHT at The Echo with Cymbals Eat Guitars. Make sure to pick up tickets to see them here as well!

Check out their video for "True Loves" and pick up their latest LP by the same name here at OV!

Second up is Guineafowl from Sydney, Australia @ 6pm! This indietronic, pop-rockin' band is already being described as the must-see up-and-coming band of the fest. They've recently signed to local indie powerhouse label, Dangerbird Records. Check out the hooks for their video of the song Botanist

Hitting the stage at 7pm is a longtime OV fave, Writer from San Diego!!! The brothers Ralph just recently wrapped up an awesome residency at The Echo last month and we are psyched to have them grace to loft again! Their hooks and harmonies are extremely infectious and sing-a-longs have been known to happen at shows. If you are free, this is a band that we think you must see!

Check out their video for Miss Mermaid and pick up their brand new 7" here!

As always our shows are free and all ages. Come by and give us a HIGH FIVE too!

Culture Collide Day 1: Roll the Tanks + The Morning After Girls + Electra

• Kicking off our first day of Culture Collide at 3pm is The Morning After Girls.
Straight out of the depths of Australia comes this pop-psych trio ready to send you to heights. What heights? That's for you to decide. Nonetheless, you're gonna swoon!! Their latest album, out now on Xemu, is titled Alone...but these songs will hold you...caress you...warm you at night. Thrilling shit!! Check it out below.

• Later on, at 6:00pm, you'll get another glimpse of Electra. We have no doubt that these fantastic lads from Tel Aviv will be able to charm you with their raw, crunchy punk (à la The Clash) even while doing it stripped down on acoustics.

• Our last slot is sure to knock your socks off. Say hi to Roll The Tanks!!

Roll The Tanks are coming in to promote their new 7"called "Goodnight Jimmy Lee". Not only are these new tunes awesome, but they come equipped in a birthday cake scented scratch n' sniff jacket. SWEET! When listening to Roll the Tanks you will hear guitar heavy rock n roll tracks that all of you punkers and metal heads will love. Make sure you come out to see them at 7pm at our loft!

What a wonderful start to a 3-day fantastical adventure of music from all over the world. Don't miss a minute of it!!
