OV Presents: Against Me! Signing TOMORROW @ 2PM

That’s right! The band’s been busy touring their sixth studio album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues – but they set aside time to come hang out at Origami! Well shucks.

In the works since 2012, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, released early this year off of Against Me!’s own Total Treble label. The album’s rather blunt title gives insight into much of the record’s contents – a fierce, brave account of the band’s recent physical and emotional transitions that are just as loud as they are bracingly intimate. That being said, Dysphoria Blues is quite varied, containing a decent dose of Against Me!’s good old politically charged angst that we know and love. As front-person Laura Jane Grace states, "it’s just another bold step forward for an artist doing what she has always done—forging her own path by processing the highs and lows of life through music." Anthems built off of fat stripes of power chords abound, sandwiched between heavier grit-centric tracks and even acoustic ballads.
