Now that all that nasty June Gloom has passed, it's high time July kicked into full gear! To help get the summer going, The Echo has recruited L.A locals Corners to get your beach towel out and get them beach-punk feet moving! Lolipoppers and garage maniacs through and through, Corners bring, raw licks, lo-fi production and general troublemaking with each hi-hat smash and wall of reverb. It's perfect for some sweaty July nights and we hope to catch you in the fray every Monday night! Tonight's openers also include OV alums Froth alongside Dirt Dress and Drinking Flowers, so it's pretty much a perfect bill. Check some Corner's goodness below and we'll see you soon!

Yes you read that right, OV is teaming up with FYF + Goldenvoice to present Cloud Nothings & METZ tonight & tomorrow at The Roxy!

Released earlier this year, Cloud Nothings newest LP, Here And Nowhere Else could almost be called a "mature" record for the band based on its intense focus and production. For the band's refinement and evolution of their sound, Here And Nowhere Else has grabbed stellar reviews across the board and looks poised to appear on many year-end lists. We've been digging it ourselves in the shop and can't wait to get wild with you tonight when the band hits the Roxy Theatre with METZ!

To get ready for the madness, take a listen to Here And Nowhere Else single "I'm Not Part Of Me" below! See you soon!

Even though Neil has like, totally abandoned us, we still think he's pretty cool. Greys In-Store @ 7PM!

Strap your shoelaces tight and get ready for a raucous night of grungey punk rock with Greys! Coming all the way from our favorite neighbors to the north (Canada) Greys is touring on the release of their new album If Anything off of Buzz and Carpark Records and it kicks some serious butt. Self described as "loud rock" these guys sound like a mix between The Ramones and Wavves, putting a new-age twist on the classic punk rock sound with distorted guitars, shouting vocals, and catchy riffs that are sure to get you jumping all over the place.

Sunday, July 13th
Yellow Ostrich In-Store @ 3PM!

From their practice space in the heart of Brooklyn, Yellow Ostrich frontman, Alex Schaff, studied astronomers and stargazed from his tiny window, in search for songwriting inspiration. The result was their newest album, Cosmos, a dreamscape of astral guitar rock and electronic ambience that makes you feel like your floating through space! Building off their alt-rock backgrounds, Yellow Ostrich fused their modern sound with the a classic 70's psychedelic rock, creating a dense soundscape that might just make you see some stars on a gloomy LA night!

This month, Echo Park faves and OV alums Mystic Braves take the stage with their patented blend of garage and psych rock! Formerly known as Blackfeet Braves, these guys have been gaining recognition within LA over the last couple years, and for good reason. The Braves craft groovy, psychedelic jams that tunnel right to pleasure centers in both your brain and your feet. Their 2013 self-titled album was one of our favorite local records of the year and we are super stoked for their newest record Desert Island which comes out later this month! So stop on by The Echo tonight at 8:30 for a kickass night of music courtesy of Mystic Braves. Supporting Mystic Braves are two more OV faves Froth & Adult Books! See you there!

TONIGHT: Froth In-Store @ 7PM!

Tonight we have Froth performing in our loft at 7PM!

Hailing from El Segundo, Froth started as a joke between El Segundo High graduates Joo-Joo Ashworth & Jeff Fribourg. However, after a string of successful local shows, Froth decided to release an LP, Patterns, earlier this year. Featuring Ashworth's hazy vocals over a combination of 60s psych and surf sounds, Patterns perfectly matches the band's name and sounds like a delicious mix of seawater and Nuggets-era rock. Recently, they've been headlining a December residency at the Bootleg and look like a band on the rise. We're huge fans of their sound here at Origami and are looking forward to a fuzzed-out performance in our loft tonight at 7PM!

So come on down to the shop, grab some extra presents for yourself, and enjoy some great music! Looking for a sneak peak? Give a listen to Patterns single "Lost My Mind" below. See you tonight!
