EVENT ALERT: Title Fight Premiere Party TONIGHT @ 7:30 PM!!

Title Fight's new album is dropping on the OV tonight at 7:30 PM!!

If you have been waiting in heavy anticipation for Title Fight's new album, Hyperview, set to release on February 3rd by ANTI- Records, boy do we have a treat for you. These Pennsylvania natives have sent us an early sneak peek, and they are letting us share it with you!

You wont just be getting a sneak peek, you will also have the chance to win some awesome prizes, like signed posters or tickets to the show at the Regent! You can also snack on some pizza and pick up a copy of the Hyperview vinyl before its released to the common man. You're our special guests, so come reap the benefits!

But what should you expect? Hyperview is said to be a massive leap forward compared to their other albums. Grantland said that is "big, sweeping, emotional, and totally captivating". The vocals are a little more muted, and the lyrics are defiantly opaque. This is an album that cannot just be listened to, but instead experienced as an glorious event within itself. The release party is set up in Pennsylvania for the 3rd, so don't miss this chance to hear the new sound earlier than anyone else on the West Coast while you still can.

OV WEEKLY: Please Please Please Let OV Weekly In!

WE ARE SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU AGAIN!

Monday, January 26th
Holychild Monday Night Residency @ The Echo!

HOLYCHILD is made up of Liz Nistico and Louie Diller. In 2010 the two found themselves in a modern dance class together, while Liz danced and Louie accompanied on drums and piano. They began collaborating immediately after meeting and now make pop music to make us think. The LA-based duo found early success in 2013 through their song, “Happy with Me,” which received over 100,000 plays in one week and got to #1 on Hype Machine’s Popular Charts. The band continues to receive local and national support, with Nylon Magazine describing the track as “mind-glowingly addictive,” Billboard grouping them in their annual “14 Artists to Watch in 2014” and LA weekly naming HOLYCHILD as “one of the ten LA bands who are going to blow up in 2014.” Their debut EP, MINDSPEAK, was released in March 2014 and questions society’s view of the woman from often times a sarcastic/absurdist perspective. HOLYCHILD is committed to making their own form of music they affectionately call ‘brat pop,’ and sharing their art with the world.

Paul Bergmann @ The Echo!

This week is pretty heavy on the Echo shows, but damn there's some good ones. First up is OV fave and alum Paul Bergmann tonight at the Echo! Paul Bergmann is a Los Angeles folk craftsman whose commanding compositions emerged from his own initial sense of musical isolation. Nestled in the rolling uplands of Western Massachusetts, Bergmann grew up in small-town seclusion, his sonic roots descending from his parent’s canon of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Gordon Lightfoot. With clean, true purpose and burnished artistic vision, Bergmann channels himself now into partnership with Fairfax Recordings. In his current creative efforts, he’ll tell you that he strives for honesty but not overexposure, vulnerability but not weakness, straightforwardness but not simplicity.

Thursday, January 29th

IN-STORE: GRMLN TONIGHT @ 7 PM!!

GRMLN will be shredding in the loft tonight @ 7 PM!! So GET HERE ALREADY!

Yoodoo Park, also known as GRMLN, is one California native that we just can't get enough of. (Look at him, can you blame us?) GRMLN's first album "Empire" made waves in 2015, and we are almost positive that the song "Teenage Rhythm" was on everyone's go-to playlist that summer. Plus have you seen the video? Genius, because who doesn't love degenerate old hippies.
Let's just say GRMLN has created some high expectations for himself, and his sophomore album "Soon Away", being released by Carpark Records in September of 2014 , doesn't disappoint. It's filled with the same upbeat angst as before, and still has all the grit and grin as the last, but maybe with a tad more sophistication. If you haven't checked it out yet, tonight is the perfect opportunity.

Get up close and personal with GRMLN tonight at 7 PM!

TONIGHT: CRIMINAL HYGIENE HIJACK RECORD CLUB!!! Ahhh!

Tonight's gonna be one hell of a night!

Echo Park arsonists/pizza delivery guys/punks Criminal Hygiene are releasing their brand new 7-inch "Turpentine" on L.A. label New Professor, and they're hosting our weekly record club to celebrate. The band toured relentlessly in 2014 crisscrossing the U.S., doing a run with Twin Peaks and the Meatbodies, and playing New Year's Eve in Chicago with The Orwells. "Turpentine" is a bittersweet melodic punk gem that captures everything this trio of big-hearted troublemakers does best, backed with an unhinged cover of Devo's "Uncontrollable Urge." Bring a record to El Prado across the street from OV and the Criminal Hygiene boys will spin some of their favorites and some of yours. Of course we'll have a tall stack of Criminal Hygiene records for sale as well.

We'll see ya tonight! And in the meantime, be sure to check out the infectious "Turpentine" below!

IN-STORE: Joel Jerome TONIGHT @ 7 PM!!

Joel Jerome is swinging by TONIGHT @ 7 PM!! Don't Miss Out!!

Joel Jerome is most known for his experimental thriftstore folk music. What is that you ask? Well, you can expect heavy bass, organ/acoustic, drums, and LOTS of vocals. If that doesn't sound like a good time, you may need to re-evaluate your definition of "good time". You may know Joel Jerome from dios or Babies on Acid, or even bands like Cherry Glazer that he helped produce, but his solo set at Origami is going to be a little different from all of that. He is a lyricist in the truest sense, he can say a lot in just a line or two, and his songs are so natural that they will feel just like old favorites even if its the first time you are hearing them.

Joel has a special way of reining in harmonies over punchy, old school drums and guitar experimentation using vintage amps that creates a sound hard to find anywhere else. Joel Jerome is a magician, and this will be a show you won't ever forget.

TONIGHT @ 7 PM! Experience music like never before!
