Sean Foye - A local music producer and sound engineer who is currently finishing up Summer Darling's new album to be released on Origami!
Todd Armstrong - A man of many skills, but we know him best for being the goalkeeper on Echo Park Futbol Club.
Jordan Rae - is an Echo Park resident and artist who specializes in Letterpress. (He's actually finishing up our business cards for us as we speak)
Joel Garcia - Joel is an LA native who has been helping inner city children for years, his current project is managing a non-profit called, The Harmony Project, which gives children opportunities through music. You can find out more about it at www.harmony-project.org
Zach Hart - back again for another dose. Zach's blog WeListenForYou has been bringing in some really cool performances for their Silverlake Steps series. You should check it out!

Sonic Youth to Takeover Origami Vinyl on Tuesday, June 9th
In celebration of their new album on Matador Records, The Eternal, Sonic Youth will take over our little record shop. For one day only, on June 9th, Origami Vinyl will become Sonic Youth's House of Shifting Plates and Ridiculous Juice, as dubbed by the band itself. Our wall of featured albums will display selections hand-picked by Thurston, Kim, Lee and Steve - ranging from Okkyung Lee to John Lennon - as well as a wide range of Sonic Youth and Sonic Youth related releases. The band has also invited their friends Pocahaunted and Shiloe to play sets at the store. Deathbomb Arc, a local label in Los Angeles that has released some Thurston Moore stuff on vinyl, gave us the following very limited edition goodies to sell in-store:

Save Our Beaches!
This isn't a vinyl thing... but this sunset is music to my eyeballs.Just weeks ago at the polling stations, voters shot down Gov. Schwarzeneggar's proposed tax increases. Now his budget efforts have focused on cutting funding for California's state parks and beaches.
The new proposal threatens to close all but 59 of the state's 279 state parks! Among those slated for closure are landmark spots like Pt. Mugu, Torrey Pines, El Cap, McGrath, Refugio, Carpinteria, even Half Moon Bay and more than 200 others! The plan would be devastating to surfers, campers, cyclists, hikers, conservationists... anyone who enjoys California's natural awesomeness; but it would also hit local economies real hard, taking away the revenue that comes with the many park visitors... in effect worsening the very budget problems it purports to solve.
It's time to take a stand for our beaches and parks. The Surfrider Foundation has put together an easy form letter that you can send right from their site:
We need your help to take action TODAY and tell the Governor and your state legislators that gutting funding to state parks is unacceptable.
Next Tuesday, June 2, the Legislature's Budget Conference Committee will consider this proposal. State park and coastal advocates need to make their voices heard RIGHT NOW. Your contact to your legislators is critical.
