EXPO '70 and SUN AIRWAY live in the loft tonight @ 7pm

Just because the weekend is over doesn't mean we aren't putting on another rad in-store in our loft!

Tonight we welcome EXPO '70 from Kansas City @ 8pm!
Expo '70 is the main driving improvisational essence of Justin Wright. Having started the project in Los Angeles in 2003, Wright has pushed his project to new levels, releasing a number of albums as cdr's that embrace an eclectic mix of krautrock, ambient drone, space exploration and minimal compositions. Comparisons range from Brian Eno, Ash Ra Tempel, A.R. & Machines, SunnO))) and Earth, but not directly sounding like any of those artists in their entirety. Come out and celebrate his 2 2010 releases, Where Does Your Mind Go? and Center of the Earth

At 7pm, we have Sun Airway, rock the loft!
If you listen to Philadelphia bliss-pop outfit Sun Airway's debut LP Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier and think that it sounds like Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion, well, you're not alone. "I remember when I was first playing [Animal Collective's] "My Girls", and my wife was like, 'Is this Sun Airway?' I was like, 'No!'", Sun Airway main man Jon Barthmus says. And, really, she's got good reason to be confused: Barthmus and bandmate Patrick Marsceill (both formerly of the now-defunct emo band the A-Sides), had been working on the blippy, bloopy sound captured on Nocturne since August of 2008. But Sun Airway's straightforwardly indie rock song structures, as well as Barthmus' midrange voice, do more than enough to set the band apart from MPP's sound. - PITCHFORK

After the in-store we head on down to Footsie's for our weekly Post-Punk night, POST-! This week Sun Airway and local dream-pop band, Twilight Sleep will be our guests! There's no cover and we offer a $5 shot of whiskey with a PBR. schee you tonight!
