Dream Boys Monday Night Residency @ The Echo!
Independent music from the west coast of Scotland has always had a kinship with psychedelic pop music from the west coast of America. Orange Juice loved The Byrds, Teenage Fanclub wanted to be in Buffalo Springfield, the Pastels adored the Electric Prunes. Dream Boys are a modern day trans atlantic love affair realized. Consisting of 3 Americans and 1 Scotsman, their songs have the spirit of postcard records filtered through the rural haze of the paisley underground. Their songs float around the notion of time and space, love and heartbreak, the highs and lows with a range of emotion and introspection. One can’t imagine these songs coming from any other band or from any other time other than now. These songs are psychedelic in the truest sense, a californian sun rises on a Glasgow street, rain fall during an indian summer, Dream Boys’ music lies somewhere in between this musical dream, in love with pop music with a sincerity unmatched.

Mariachi El Bronx III Album Premiere Party!
Craving some more Mariachi El Bronx since their awesome performance at FYF? Well then look no further than OV this Wednesday when we premiere Mariachi El Bronx's newest LP right at OV!
Mariachi El Bronx, local Angelinos, have been around forever, and their new album shows that they aren't going anywhere. Previously known as The Bronx, this punk group has put a spin on their old style, and boy, do we like it. The ex-punks have been nothing but successful since they put on their Charro outfits, and have been redefining traditional Mexican music for everyone. Titled, Mariachi El Bronx (III), the band's album is set to release on Nov. 4th from ATO Records, and judging from the singles they have released, it won't be disappointing. The band has changed things up with the new album, and as they ponder maturity as a group their songs are beginning to confront "a lot of dark things" according to the frontman Matt Caughthran. Not content to merely change up their lyrics, the band also combines some electronic sounds to go alongside their classic mariachi instrumentals. We can't wait to hear what the record sounds like and hope you can roll on through to hear it with us!
To make things even sweeter, if you stop by for the Premiere Party tonight, not only will you get to hear great new music, but OV will also be raffling off tickets to their show at the El Rey on Nov. 5th! It's a night you don't want to miss!

Amason In-Store @ 7PM!
Amason is stopping by OV tonight at 7 PM for a post-Halloween treat, and believe us you want to be here. The sweet Swedes of Amason have been making music together since late 2012, and ever since the release of their self-entitled EP in August of 2013 people have been begging for an album. We will all have to wait a little longer for their debut album Sky City, which is set to release worldwide in early 2015.
But, to tide us over in the meantime, the band has just released the single "Duvan" on Fairfax Recordings and INGRID, and man, do we want more. Amanda, the female vocalist, has a soothing retro vibe, mixed with just the right amount of synth while being supported by catchy beats and soothing vibes that will calm you right down after a long day. The sound is sultry, and inviting. Amason has created a wonderful and enticing concoction, especially with the combination of English and Swedish lyrics, that is very unique to the scandinavian five-piece. All of the members have their own very impressive musical talents and projects, but when they get together, Amason is a force to be reckoned with.
You WILL regret it if you miss this one! Catch them stateside while you can!
Now that we've planned your week, you better share some of the candy haul with us. We're always hungry.
