Mariachi El Bronx, local Angelinos, have been around forever, and their new album shows that they aren't going anywhere. Previously known as The Bronx, this punk group has put a spin on their old style, and boy, do we like it. The ex-punks have been nothing but successful since they put on their Charro outfits, and have been redefining traditional Mexican music for everyone.
Titled, Mariachi El Bronx (III), the band's album is set to release on Nov. 4th from ATO Records, and judging from the singles they have released, it won't be disappointing. The band has changed things up with the new album, and as they reach maturity as a group their songs are beginning to confront "a lot of dark things" according to the frontman Matt Caughthran. Not only did Mariachi El Bronx change up their lyrics, but they also combined some electronic sounds with the old classic acoustic instrumentals.
If you stop by for the Premiere Party tonight, not only will you get to hear great new music, but OV will also be raffling off tickets to their show at the El Rey on Nov. 5th. So hurry up and get here already!!
