Recently signed to Merge Records, Vertical Scratchers was formed by indie rock veterans John Schmersal (Brainiac) & Christian Beaulieu (Triclops!) in the aftermath of a especially memorable Thanksgiving party. After some jamming, the two decided to bring their oft-experimental indie roots into the garage-rock/pop realm, forming Vertical Scratchers in 2012. Working around strong pop hooks, their debut LP Daughter Of Everything has as many left turns as it does toe-tappers, succinctly described on the band's Merge page as the "the Kinks with a Buzzcocks brevity." Now touring in support of Daughter of Everything, we're super stoked to have them stop by our loft tonight at 5PM for some kickass tunes and good vibes. Hope you can make it!
