AWW YEAH, Here Comes Echo Park Rising on August 25!

On a stoked scale of 1-10 we're at a 450!

Last year a bunch of Echo Park shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and venues got together in the 11th hour to salvage what had been known as Sunset Junction. Within 4 days we all got together and decided to have a community party, have bands and DJs play in a bunch of different places on Sunset Blvd, Echo Park Ave, and Alvarado. It was pretty awesome to see it all come together so quickly and witness our neighborhood embracing each other.

After the event a bunch of us got together and decided we should try do this annually. Give it a proper amount of planning and see what would happen. So back in March we started with outreach and received positive support from all aspects of the community. Over 65 different businesses and non-profits have elected to be involved. We also have over 60 bands, performers, comedians, and DJ's performing within many of these different businesses. There will be a main stage setup on the parking lot of TAIX French Restaurant, A movie screening of a classic horror film on the roof of the citibank building, and a fair of sorts solely dedicated to those who press and print their own zines, books, albums, t-shirts, etc that will take over the entire Echoplex called the Press 'n' Play fest! Shops, restaurants, and bars will also be doing sales, specials, and such.

It's gonna be awesome!  Best of all this thing is entirely free!

It all goes down on AUGUST 25th from noon 'til 2am!  So be sure to save the date!
