TOMORROW: Heidecker & Wood "Some Things Never Stay The Same" Album Premiere Party @ Record Club!

We at Origami are fully aware that you've been suffering a distinct lack of Tim Heidecker ever since the end of Tim & Eric in 2010 and the release their Billion Dollar Movie last year. So in a very special edition of Record Club, we will be premiering his new album with longtime musical collaborator Davin Wood, Some Things Never Stay The Same, at the El Prado this Tuesday at 9PM!

The sequel to their 2011 debut Starting From Nowhere, Tim and Davin want to be perfectly clear on their new album Some Things Never Stay The Same: it is definitively a "... self-indulgent sophomore album with horns, female backup singers, songs about life on the road and redemption for indiscretions that remain vague to protect the innocent, but mostly the guilty. It’s by turns pompous, funny, overproduced, under baked, overly serious and not serious enough." Drawing inspiration from classic 70s songwriters/studio rats like Randy Newman, Warren Zevon and Harry Nilsson, Some Things Never Stay The Same may not be what's expected from an album released by one of comedy's weirdest minds, but after one or two listens to Heidecker & Wood's musical world, its really hard to imagine what other format this musical duo could exist in. Toeing the line between parody and true enthusiasm, Some Things Never Stay The Same gives itself exactly as it is: AM-rock and the intentional or unintentional laughs that come with it.

Sounds like a good soundtrack for grabbing a couple drinks doesn't it? To make the deal even sweeter, Heidecker & Wood themselves will be on hand to hang out and sign copies of their new album! We'll have their new record with us at the bar, but you can also stop by Origami and grab a copy on Tuesday in preparation for what will be an awesome night. And as always, we'll be giving you the opportunity to spin your favorite records all night long, just come on by the shop and sign up!

So there you have it. A solution to your Heidecker withdrawals and an opportunity to get funky all night long. To get yourself ready, give a listen to Some Things Never Stay The Same's first single, "Getaway Man" below and we'll see you Tuesday at 9PM!
